Aquire images from a scanner through a twain interface

description

It should be possible to aquire an image through a twain driver. Integrate an already existing twain project so that images can be aquired into the drawingboard by a twain supported device.

I recently added image importing from devices, through the WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) interface. Not exactly TWAIN, but an alternative to it. It allows you to import imagery from a scanner, an USB camera device, your iPhone, etc.
cheers!

I know Frank great job, not all devices support WIA therefore it would be great if the drawing board also supports the twain interface.

Is Someone Feeling The Urge? ... to implement Twain, quite similar to the already supported WIA image Acquisition?

personally, I'm quite happy with WIA devices, if your machinery supports it, that is (most modern hardware and drivers do.. at least all the stuff I have lying around here... hehe, how blatantly egoistic of me. How About it Christian? feel up to it? Twain in .Net, hmmm ;-)

Implementing the WIA interfacing was surprisingly simple. Twain looks quite a bit more obscure in managed code. If anyone has a good open-source demo project in these environments, please let us know, and we'll kick it in!

cheers,
